Chicapa II Hydropower Development – Powerplant Building | Angola
COBA Group developed, for GAMEK, the Architectural Design for a Design-and-Build Tender of the Chicapa II Hydropower Development.
This Design sought the integration of the whole area of the Powerplant building, as well as the Substation’s platform, in the surrounding landscape, thus optimizing its topographic relation with the levels defined for the operation of the Hydropower Development.
Due to its presence in the landscape where it is set, the Powerplant building was subject to a detailed development in the architectural design, by integrating its functional organization with the façade, exterior arrangements and respective access roads.

Hotel Unit - Albufeira | Portugal
Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa is part of an exclusive resort located in Vilamoura.
The Final Design of the structural studies of this luxurious development’s building was Tetraplano’s responsibility, subsidiary company of the COBA Group.
It covers an approximate area of 40 000 m² and comprises 5 swimming pools and a canal structure which form the “Cascata” (Waterfall).
The buildings’ structure is mostly composed of fungiform massive slabs, pillars and shallow foundations.

Whale Museum – Azores | Portugal
Tetraplano developed the Final Design of the foundations and structural studies, as well as the water supply and sewage design.
The construction area occupies approximately 6 000 m²
structures develop along the slope, in two independent buildings. The
bigger one is a three-storey building featuring two semi-basements,
whereas the smaller building has 2 floors and a basement for parking
In structural terms, we stress out the slab of the exhibition centre with a 16 m-free span with a prestressed solution and the metal/concrete mixed cover of the cetaceans room.

GAMEK Building - Luanda | Angola
COBA Group developed the Preliminary Study of the architectural design of GAMEK’s new facilities (GAMEK – Gabinete de Aproveitamento do Médio Kwanza [Cabinet of Middle Kwanza River Development]).
This Project embodies an opportunity of partial requalification of the Luanda’s urban landscape with its cosmopolitan habits.
It is based on this assumption that its functional organization aims at a new occupation of the GAMEK building, graphically represented in the form of an architectural study for the conception of an office building, shopping galleries and the corresponding reorganisation of the enveloping public area, comprising an underground parking lot.
