1962 – by a group of internationally renowned Portuguese experts on arch dams, led by Professor Joaquim Laginha Serafim;

First contracts in Portugal, Brazil, Costa Rica, Spain and Greece;

Establishment of two companies in Brazil: COBA, SA and ERN, SA;

Foundation of CONSULPRESA, in Spain;

Beginning of activity in Angola and Mozambique;

24 July 1969 - Conversion into a Joint-stock Company;

First water supply project with the "Strengthening of the Water Supply System to Greater Lisbon".

The 1970s

Intensification of activity in the Road and Agricultural sectors;

Beginning of activity in the field of Sanitation;

Acquisition of first own facilities in Lisbon;

First contracts in the Algerian market.

The 1980s

Acquisition of the COBA building in Lisbon, where the company has its head office;

Expansion of the Railway and Environment Sectors;

Strong international activity in Angola, Algeria and Mozambique.

The 1990s

First contracts in Morocco and in other Latin American countries;

Participation in the First Portuguese PPP - Vasco da Gama Bridge;

Development of the Cartography and Cadastre Sector.

The 2000s

Expansion to more countries - Senegal, Equatorial Guinea, Hungary, Bulgaria, Republic of Congo and Ghana;

Consolidation of the Group with the incorporation of new companies in Portugal and abroad;

Consulstrada joins the COBA Group;

Founding of LandCOBA;

Tetraplano incorporated in the COBA Group.

The 2010s

Access to the Panama, Georgia, South Sudan, Colombia, Qatar, Guinea Conakry, Malawi, Uganda, Zambia and Pakistan markets.

The 2020s

Definition of COBA's Strategic Plan 2023 based on the following pillars: consolidation of traditional activity, diversification of services, retaining talent and improved profitability;

Creation of the “Sustainable COBA”, “COBA Innovation” and “COBA Academy” insignia;

Commitment to innovative and redefined work methodologies supported by BIM methodology.
